Shower Thoughts
The best ideas come to you in the shower.
Your eyes are closed and your fingertips are just barely touching your cheeks. You are completely encased in a glorious stream of perfectly warm water. You are thinking about everything - the state of the world today, what soft shirt and comfy pants you plan on putting on to make you look semi-presentable for your next WFH meeting, why some droplets of water just collect on the shower door while others continue their cascade down, and… your neighbor. No, not your incredibly hot neighbor with the dark hair and the perfectly tanned skin and the flashy smile - he doesn’t exist, except in your head. Who you’re picturing instead is your really nice elderly neighbor that always waves to you but that you barely ever see. You wonder about her and that cherry pie she left on your doorstep when you first moved in four years ago with a cute note written in standard female Boomer script. And how she sometimes gives you that standard hand raise hello when you are both in the backyard and standing on your respective decks. What a weird thing to be thinking about in the shower. Your brain is weird sometimes, what can you say…
