All the stories (that I felt like sharing) from a first time Mama
For me, the hardest part about pregnancy, besides the fact that I was literally growing a human and that takes one hell of a toll on your body and your psyche, was navigating the folks who just can’t wait to tell you what to do, or what not to do, or what you should absolutely never do, or what you should be doing absolutely every day.
It is exceedingly hard during this time of year to 1) not indulge in your favorite things like you’ve been planning, 2) get over the fact that even if you could indulge in all the undercooked meat and Champagne that the thought of it all makes you feel a little ill, and 3) to somehow hide the fact that you’re not eating or drinking any of your usual favorites in front of your family and friends.
I realized I might be pregnant on a Friday. The day started off like nothing special, but in true your-life-is-about-to-change-fashion things quickly escalated in a way that ended with me making an emergency trip to a CVS to buy not one, but two different kinds of pregnancy tests.
Holy shit, we’re pregnant! I figured this occasion was worthy of a whole new section in my blog, since, well… this seems like kind of a big deal.
